I was fortunate to grow up in an environment that valued conscious living and self-expression, where music held a special place in our family life. From an early age, two passions guided my journey: singing and the understanding of the human mind.
As I pursued my artistic path, opera revealed itself as the perfect fusion of these passions. For over 12 years, I dedicated myself to singing (Master in Vocal Performance Royal College of Music London, productions at opera houses such as Opéra Lausanne, Dutch National Opera, Opera Zuid,..) and explored the depths of the human psyche through diverse characters on stage.
Along the way, I learned that a music career demanded the same dedication and perseverance found in high-performance athletics.
However, I also noticed that the mental well-being of singers was often overlooked. The industry's focus on flawless performances seemed to ignore the unique challenges that artists faced; vocal demands and image concerns, life on the road, irregular hours, lack of labor unions or associations, anxiety and fear of not measuring up, and social media pressure, to name a few.
This realization compelled me to address the taboo surrounding mental well-being for singers.
The disconnect between industry norms and my values sparked a profound desire for change. I believe that artists should be embraced holistically, going beyond their technical skills and stage presence. As singing is a top sport, we should be able to provide comprehensive support, including mental coaching and voice massage therapies, which I consider essential for the overall success of artists.
Drawing from my own experiences, my mission with VibrantVoice© is to help every artist build a sustainable career and rediscover their direction. By advocating for a compassionate and holistic approach, I aspire to create a healthier and more nurturing environment for performers, helping them overcome challenges, and feel fulfilled and empowered in all areas of their lives.
